In this year that marks 10 years from the start of the genocide in Darfur, people around the world are joining together with the #Darfur10 campaign to commemorate the victims and to call for action to address ongoing abuses in Sudan.

Numerous events have been held from California and Washington, DC to London, Rome, and South Africa. Thousands of citizens have signed a global Darfur10 Petition and appealed to their governments to take action. Parliamentarians in several countries have answered those calls by signing the petition, making statements, writing letters, and introducing new legislation to honor the victims of genocide and to bring peace, security, and accountability to Sudan.

Below are some highlights of #Darfur10 efforts around the world along with a slide show of several of the events that have been held. To add your voice sign the global petition to let the UN know that Darfur is not forgotten.

If you are in the United States, ask your Member of Congress to co-sponsor the Sudan Peace, Security and Accountability Act of 2013.
