Passing of Congressman Donald Payne Leaves Void on Sudan and Human Rights

(Washington, DC) – United to End Genocide President Tom Andrews released the following statement regarding the death of Congressman Donald Payne (D-NJ): “United to End Genocide is deeply saddened by the passing of Congressman Donald Payne. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family. “Among his many accomplishments, Congressman Payne was a champion of the people of Sudan. As co-chair of the Sudan caucus, he provided vital leadership, working to keep Congress focused on a people too often forgotten by the international community. His principles and values were a beacon for Congress and the nation. His contributions on human rights and Sudan will be greatly missed.”
