The information we may collect.
While using our web site, you do not have to identify yourself or divulge personal information. We do not collect personally identifiable information about you on this site without your knowledge, and all such information is collected directly from you. United to End Genocide may periodically ask you to provide personally identifying information such as your name, postal address, email address, credit/debit card information and other information about you. You are under no obligation to provide us with this information, but without it, we may not be able to provide you with timely information regarding important issues and events.
How do we protect your information?
Our web site has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of your information in our database. However, while we make good faith efforts to store information collected in a secure operating environment, we cannot guarantee complete security.
When you contribute online, United to End Genocide uses security protocols to protect sensitive data, such as personally identifiable information and credit card numbers. The privacy of this data is ensured with a keyed symmetric encryption algorithm. While this data is being transferred, it is protected by the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) using a 128-bit signed certificate.
How do we use the information you provide?
United to End Genocide uses the information we collect from you in an effort to engage you as an online activist, including by sending you news and information about United to End Genocide, accepting contributions, and for other purposes. We may provide this information to our contractors and successors, but we will not sell, rent, trade, lend or otherwise share your personal information with other organizations for commercial purposes unless you agree otherwise. Finally, we may disclose personally identifiable information when required by law or when we have a good faith belief that release is appropriate to protect our rights or property, or to protect our donors and supporters from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful conduct.
When you sign one of our petitions or surveys:
We treat your name, city, state, and any comments as public information. We may make comments along with your city and state available to the press and public online. We will not make your postal or email address publicly available, but we may share this information with the recipients of these petitions and thereafter the recipient may make these petitions public. If you are not already a member of United to End Genocide, we will use your email address to send you periodic updates and actions you can take.

We use embedded images in emails to track open rates for our mailings, so we can evaluate which mailings resonate best with our members. We also evaluate our web site traffic to determine how visitors found our web site and what areas of the web site they use most often.
Information on children’s privacy.
We believe every precaution must be taken to protect children online. United to End Genocide does not knowingly ask children 13 and under for any information. Visitors who are 13 or under should ask a parent or legal guardian for assistance when using EndGenocide.org and should not submit any personally identifiable information.
